Après Michael Herck ce matin, c’est James Jakes qui a réalisé le meilleur temps à Abu Dhabi. Le Britannique avait effectué son retour en GP2 Series lors du dernier meeting de la saison sur le circuit de Yas Marina et c’est sur le même tracé qu’il a réalisé la meilleure performance du jour des essais privés.
Avec un meilleur temps réalisé en 1:47.790, James Jakes a devancé Esteban Gutierrez de plus de quatre dixièmes. A la troisième place, on retrouve Charles Pic. Suivent Rodolfo Gonzalez, Robert Wickens, Stefano Coletti, Josef Kral et Michael Herk.
Nathanael Berthon est 16ème et Nicolas Maroc 20ème.
