Après avoir dominé la journée de mercredi, Fabio Leimer poursuit sa série de meilleur temps en ayant réalisé la meilleure performance ce matin, sur le circuit de Yas Marina. Le pilote suisse a réalisé sa meilleur tour en 1:47.856.
Au volant de sa monoplace de l’équipe Rapax, Leimer devant Josef Kral de 26 millièmes. Michael Herck est à la troisième place devant Sam Bird et Marcus Ericsson. Suivent Jake Rosenzweig, Roberto Merhi, Brendon Hartley et Esteban Gutierrez.
Du côté des Français, Romain Grosjean est 11ème alors que Nathanael Bertho est 20ème.
